These Terms of Service govern your use of Trove Family products and services. We've written them to be clear and honest. By using Trove, you agree to these terms. If something here doesn't make sense, please ask us — we're real people and we're happy to explain.
01
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using any Trove Family product, including our website at troveparent.com and our mobile application at trovefamily.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
02
Who Can Use Trove
Trove is designed for adults — parents, grandparents, stepparents, guardians, and other caregivers. By creating an account, you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction to agree to these terms.
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and children should not create accounts. Parents may enter information about their children into their own account to personalize the experience. This information is controlled by the parent, not the child.
03
Your Account
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
04
Subscriptions & Payments
Trove offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, depending on the plan you choose).
- Billing — Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancellation — You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for unused time.
- Refunds — We offer refunds within 7 days of your initial purchase if you are not satisfied. After that period, refunds are at our discretion.
- Price changes — We will give you at least 30 days notice before changing subscription prices. You may cancel if you do not accept the new price.
05
Your Content
💚 Your memories belong to you. Trove does not claim ownership of the content you create.
You own the content you add to Trove — your answers, journal entries, photos, and memories. By using Trove, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
You are responsible for the content you post. You agree not to use Trove to store or share content that is:
- Illegal, harmful, or exploitative of children.
- Infringing on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Used to harass, threaten, or harm others.
06
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Trove only for its intended purpose: connecting families through questions, activities, and memory-keeping. You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt our services.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute our question library or content.
- Use automated tools or bots to interact with our services.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
- Use Trove for commercial purposes without our written permission.
07
Our Intellectual Property
The Trove name, logo, question library, app design, and all other content we create are the property of Trove Family, LLC. You may not use, copy, or distribute them without our permission.
We work hard to write thoughtful, age-appropriate questions for families. Please don't reproduce or sell them — that's not what they're for.
08
Data Export & Account Deletion
We believe your memories belong to you. You can export all of your Trove content at any time in a standard format. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days.
We encourage you to export your memories before deleting your account, as this action is permanent and cannot be undone.
09
Service Availability
We aim to keep Trove available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally take the service offline for maintenance, upgrades, or to address security issues. We'll do our best to give advance notice when planned downtime is significant.
We are a small team. We build for the long game, not for engagement metrics. We will not discontinue Trove without giving users adequate notice and an opportunity to export their data.
10
Disclaimers & Limitations
Trove is provided "as is." While we put significant care into everything we build, we cannot guarantee that the service will always be error-free or meet every expectation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trove Family, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Trove. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
11
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Oregon, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
12
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Trove after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
If you disagree with a change, you may cancel your account before the new terms take effect.
